The Junghans Max Bill quartz watch owes its name to one of the most extraordinary designers of the last century. An architect, sculptor and product designer, Max Bill studied at the Bauhaus in Dessau. His association with Junghans began in the 1950s, when he was commissioned to design a kitchen clock for the company. In 1961, Max Bill began designing purist watches for the brand and Junghans ensured that the watches were at the cutting edge of technology. Max Bill is one of the best watch designers in Europe. Firstly, the Max Bill Quartz has a 38mm gold PVD-coated stainless steel case with a large aperture for the dial, so that less of the bezel is visible and more of the dial. Since time is the most important feature of any watch, Max Bill deliberately reduced the case to its simplest form.

Secondly, the domed hard plexiglass accentuates the historic charm of the watch. Coated with sicralan to ensure scratch resistance, it is also practical.
